Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from the iron at the drugstore?

Most inexpensive iron supplements use ferrous sulfate, which is effective but rough on the digestive system for many people. We use Ferrochel iron bisglycinate, a chelated form selected for tolerability. We also include Vitamin C for absorption support and the active forms of folate and B12 rather than the cheaper precursors.

Will this constipate me?

That was the problem we set out to solve. The chelated iron form and the enzyme and probiotic blend were both chosen for digestive comfort. Individual response varies, which is why the 90 day promise exists.

When should I take it?

Two capsules in the morning with food. Keep about two hours between your dose and coffee, tea, calcium, or dairy.

How long until I notice anything?

Give it 90 days. Iron stores rebuild slowly. Most women describe it as noticing one day that something has been easier for a while, not a switch flipping.

Do I need a blood test first?

We recommend it. Ask for ferritin and a CBC. Knowing your starting number is the only way to know whether supplementation is doing anything, and iron is not something to take indefinitely without that information.

Can I take this if I am pregnant or nursing?

Talk to your OB first. Iron needs change in pregnancy, and your doctor may want you at a different dose.

Can I take it with my other medications?

Iron can interact with certain medications, including some thyroid medications and antibiotics. Check with your physician or pharmacist.

Is it vegan? Gluten free?

Veggie capsules.

Where is it made?

Manufactured in a GMP certified facility in the United States. Third party tested for purity and potency.

How many days is one bottle?

30 days. 60 veggie capsules at two per day.
